Protecting the Visa HQ from water leaks

by Andy Clutton

Vimpex’s Hydrosense Water Leak Detection System has been installed at Visa‘s new Dubai headquarters to protect the facility from water ingress, which could seriously damage electrical, communication and computer networks.

Spanning spanning 100,000 square feet, Visa’s new Dubai HQ facility is now the company’s headquarters for the Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) region.

The Vimpex Hydrosense Water Leak Detection system continuously monitors for water leaks around the clock, and has the facility for 72-hour battery standby in the event of power failure. Should a leak be detected the control panel sounds an alarm which can be extended to a remote location. When an alarm is raised, Vimpex Hydro-Cryer voice sounders can be used to broadcast an unambiguous message, avoiding confusion with other sounders on site.

Escape of Water claims for commercial buildings are consistently the most expensive for insurers, with claims in the UK alone costing insurers £2.5 million a day, which equates to nearly £1 billion a year.
