IFPO (UK) welcomes new Board members

The International Foundation for Protection Officers (UK) has welcomed two new members to its Advisory Board, Mike Lees and Lynda Moore. IFPO UK is a not-for-profit membership association that provides professional learning and career advancements opportunities for security officers, supervisors and managers.

The AB is a group of security professionals drawn from across the sector and it plays a vital role in determining the direction IFPO UK will be taking over the coming months and years, in its governance and in its mission to support the education and career development of frontline security officers, supervisors and managers.

Mike Lees MSc CSyP FSyI

Mike Lees served with South Yorkshire Police for 30 years prior to his appointment as a management trainer with Link Associates International and NHS commissioning business security manager.  In 2007 he joined the British Transport Police as NE Area Contingency Planning and Business Continuity Manager working from their Leeds headquarters.  His police experience included posts in community liaison, area communications, contingency planning, disaster victim identification and aviation.  He is possibly the only police airport specialist to have been instrumental in the opening and initial multi-agency exercising of two local airports alongside colleagues from the Civil Aviation Authority.  His role with an international training agency included working with BNFL at Sellafield, Virgin Trains, Royal Mail, TfL and the Environment Agency.  In November 2009 he joined Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as the Security and Resilience Manager and now as Head of Business security holds this strategic responsibility.

Mike is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP), Fellow of the Security and Business Continuity Institutes and Emergency Planning Society and a Certified Risk Manager.   He holds a MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Leicester and is an accredited Healthcare Security and Counter Fraud Manager, he is also a qualified teacher and drone pilot.   Mike is extremely proud to hail from Yorkshire, lives in Barnsley and received two commendations during his police service.  He keeps bees, enjoys real ale and wishes he could play the drums better.

 

Lynda Moore MSyI RISC

Lynda is an experienced Security professional with over 40 years’ service in the industry.   She spent 30 years with a regional contract security company, during which she was 20 years as a Board Director including the last 10 in the role of Managing Director.

Lynda is currently the owner of a Security Consultancy providing a range of services including penetration and customer service audits testing on-site security covering the whole of the UK.   She also runs an association for SIA ACS accredited Security Companies, The ACS Pacesetters, which includes the annual Security Officer of Distinction Awards.  Both the Silver Fox Audit Scheme and The ACS Pacesetters recognise and reward good work by front-line Security Officers.

Lynda has membership status of the Security Institute and is a Registered Independent Security Consultant.
