Ward Security is expanding into Scotland with the opening of offices in both Glasgow and Edinburgh and the key appointment of ex-Scotland Rugby international and British Lions fly-half Craig Chalmers, who joins the company as business development manager. Andrew Foley, Ward Security’s operations manager who has been with the company for some time now, will lead the new operation.
Speaking about this strategic move, David Ward (managing director of Ward Security) told Risk UK: “Ward Security has enjoyed a period of growth and expansion into new services that has been driven by the efforts of the management team and cemented by the high levels of dedication and service of staff right across the business. Scotland represents an excellent opportunity for us, and we’re both ready and confident that our range of professional services will be well received north of the border.”
Ward went on to state: “Scotland is home to a number of key industries in which we already have considerable experience, as well as other sectors within which we’re very keen to develop a presence. The appointment of Craig Chalmers is a welcome one. His familiarity with the country, as well as his contacts and excellent communication skills, will be key in helping to build Ward Security’s profile and reputation in Scotland.”
Craig Chalmers brings ten years’ experience within the security industry to his new role, having worked as a business development manager in the sector since his retirement from professional rugby.
“I’m extremely excited about coming on board to consult for Ward Security,” explained Chalmers. “Initially, I’ll be focused on building the facilities management business. However, the opportunities for Ward Security are massive in Scotland as there are few Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme companies able to provide the level of service offered by ourselves. Given the vast experience of Andrew Foley and both David and Kevin Ward in the FM security market, in tandem with the company’s excellent reputation and proven levels of service, I know we can make the move into Scotland a great success.”
Ward Security launches Ward Belgravia
In addition to the Scottish expansion, Ward Security has launched a new division – entitled Ward Belgravia – which will give the company’s Reception Services more focus and a stronger strategic direction.
The new division will be headed up by Lauren Cooper, who brings ten years’ experience in reception services and management to the role.
Speaking about the new division, David Ward explained: “As the security offer has broadened to encompass a wider range of value added services and a closer integration with customers’ businesses, our Reception Services are now increasingly in demand. Security has evolved, and we’re extremely proud to be a key player in driving both evolution and innovation in the marketplace.”
The company’s managing director continued: “Many end user customers rely on our Reception Services to deliver a welcoming Front-of-House experience, and we continually strive to ensure that our Front-of-House management standards are consistently exceptional. As demand has increased, we’ve absolutely recognised the need to afford Reception Services a more dedicated focus.”
Talking specifically about the appointment of Lauren Cooper, Ward commented: “We’re delighted to welcome Lauren who will head up the new division and whose experience will prove invaluable in helping to determine the strategic direction the new division takes as we progress. We anticipate consistent growth in Reception Services, as well as further evolution of our Front-of-House offer.”
Lauren Cooper joins Ward Security from Lloyds of London. Prior to this, Lauren worked at UBS London, as well as holding positions within the hotel and spa sector.
