UK-based companies are being given the chance to expand their business overseas thanks to UBM EMEA’s partnership with UKTI DSO for the 2015 Protection and Management event at London’s ExCeL in June

UBM EMEA – the organiser of IFSEC International, FIREX International and Safety & Health Expo – has announced a partnership with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to host a meetings and education programme that will service all three events taking place at ExCeL, London from 16-18 June 2015 as part of UBM’s annual Protection and Management Series.

The UKTI Events Alliance initiative will engage with three key Trade Challenge Partners (TCPs) – namely the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), the Fire Industry Association (FIA) and the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) – all of whom are key stakeholders within their respective markets.

The programme will bring inward missions of commercial officers and relevant buyers from target countries – identified by the TCPs and also by way of insight from the shows’ exhibitors – to meet with UK-based organisations who are exhibiting at the events.

Sector Marketing has been appointed to manage the programme alongside the wider Protection and Management Series Global Meetings Programme, and is focused on arranging bespoke one-to-one meetings with UK exhibitors for the international buyers and commercial officers.

All meetings will take place within the dedicated BSIA-UKTI Lounge at IFSEC International 2015. This area will also host sessions offering salient advice and guidance around exporting Best Practice and identifying opportunities for UK-based companies to expand their business overseas.

Speaking about this latest move, Simon Mills (group director for the Protection and Management Series at UBM) commented: “We’re really pleased to be working with the UKTI DSO as well as the BSIA, the FIA and the BSIF to offer real value for anyone wishing to expand their business on the international stage. By running a series of international events that annually bring these industries together, we fully recognise that we’re in a unique position to create great opportunities and make new introductions across borders for our numerous exhibitors.”

In previous years UKTI DSO has, of course, worked in tandem with IFSEC International, but this year the partnership is being expanded to include FIREX International and Safety & Health Expo – both sectors identified by UKTI as having the potential for UK business export.

As stated, IFSEC International, FIREX International and Safety & Health Expo are all part of UBM EMEA’s Protection and Management Series, the UK’s largest event dedicated to protecting and managing property, people and information. The event in June also includes The Facilities Show and Service Management Expo.

‘World’s Greatest Explorer’ set for Protection and Management Series 2015

Sir Ranulph Fiennes Bt OBE has been revealed as the second high-profile speaker confirmed for the Inspirational Speaker Series at this year’s Protection and Management event. He will take to the stage at London’s ExCeL on Wednesday 17 June at 2.30 pm.

Pushing the boundaries of safety, Sir Ranulph Fiennes was once described by The Guinness Book of Records as “the world’s greatest living explorer” and, indeed, was the first person to have reached both the North and South Poles on foot.

In the second high-profile and motivational session scheduled to take place at Protection and Management 2015, Sir Ranulph Fiennes will touch on the importance of agility and how the ability to perform under extreme pressure determines success.

There’ll also be key learnings around how teamwork, determination, patience, discipline and creative thinking are all critical in expeditions and how this can be translated into everyday challenges experienced across the business environment.

UBM’s Simon Mills said: “We’re delighted to announce the second of our Inspirational Speakers for Protection and Management 2015. Sir Ranulph Fiennes is another stellar addition to the extensive educational programme we already have in place. We’re looking forward to hearing him share his impressive experiences and delivering for our audience an opportunity to enhance their business acumen by dint of listening to different perspectives on the ingredients necessary for success.”

Sir Ranulph Fiennes Bt OBE joins Baroness Karren Brady CBE (who opens the event on Tuesday 16 June) in the Inspirational Speaker Series.
