OCS has appointed Steve Gardner as the company’s new UK head of standards and solutions for security services. Gardner will be responsible for leading the continued development of the OCS security brand by identifying and optimising new delivery methods.

Gardner will also interpret market evolution patterns in the industry, identify innovations and create both added value and Best Practice solutions for OCS customers.

In his new role, Gardner reports directly to Julie Jackson, head of contract re-engineering for OCS UK, and will recommend long, medium and short-term business development strategies.

Commenting on the challenges ahead, Gardner told Risk UK: “I’m delighted to take on this new role and extend the OCS security service client base in security guarding and technical solutions.”

Jane Sheard, CEO of UK facilities services at OCS, added: “I look forward to supporting Steve in this critical new role which helps to underpin OCS’ future development strategy.”

Gardner joined OCS in 2007 as head of standards and compliance. He was responsible for standards and regulatory compliance across the group, supporting all the service streams including security.

During this time, Gardner managed the implementation of the National Support Centre and created the systems and procedures for the staff vetting and licensing of security operatives.
