OSPAs Thought Leadership Summit 2020: Shaping the Future Security Agenda

The third Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) Thought Leadership Summit, organised in association with the National Security Inspectorate, takes place on Wednesday 26 February 2020 at the Royal Lancaster in central London and is set to deliver a lively, thought-provoking and engaging event providing a platform to confront issues faced by the security industry.

The programme will address the increasing challenges faced by the security guarding community, such as the Living Wage and the rogue labour risk from labour providers. The event will also examine the police-alarms industry partnership in false alarms management of the last 20 years as it faces increasing pressures from players operating without a mark of approval, new technologies and methods.

Douglas Barnett (director for the mid-market and customer risk management at AXA Insurance) will discuss ‘Is Competence Important to the Guarding Services Sector?’ His talk will consider guarding services as part of the wider security tool kit which increasingly requires wide-ranging skills and competence to meet today’s customer’s needs.  However, all-too-often the race to the bottom on contract pricing results in the customer not receiving what they require or consider they’re procuring.

This session will explore the many issues that relate back to a difficult and poor supply chain of labour, the dubious sub-contracting across the sector that could be exposing businesses to liabilities and current expectations of insurers.

More high-profile and influential thought leaders will be announced soon, all of whom will air their views and debate matters that have, in the past, been left unchallenged.

Doors to the OSPAs Thought Leadership Summit will open at 11.15 am. Luncheon will be provided and an exhibition of products and services will be on display.

The event will finish at 5.00 pm with the OSPAs Awards Dinner following on at 6.45 pm.

Places at the Thought Leadership Summit are limited. Delegate places are priced at £45 + VAT including luncheon, entrance to the exhibition, conference attendance and afternoon refreshments. For further details visit: https://uk.theospas.com/summit2020/
