Facilities management solutions specialist Mitie has retained a multi-million pound security contract with Fujitsu, one of the UK and Ireland’s leading IT systems, services and products companies.

Across the next three years, Mitie’s Total Security Management (TSM) business division will provide integrated services for the client based around security personnel, key holding, alarm response and mobile patrols.

Mitie will also provide remote monitoring via a dedicated pod at Mitec, Mitie’s Technology Centre based in Northern Ireland. From there, trained operators will monitor over 40 of Fujitsu’s vital UK locations, including head offices, data centres and satellite locations.

Speaking to Risk UK about the contract, Bob Forsyth – managing director of Mitie’s TSM business, said: “We are delighted to build on the long-standing relationship we have had with Fujitsu over the past three years. Becoming a trusted partner for Fujitsu has been key to providing an innovative offering. We look forward to continuing to protect the firm from asset theft as well as data theft and breaches. ”

David Wallis, head of security at Fujitsu, added: “Mitie’s continued commitment to innovation and service improvement is what makes working with the company so special. Protecting our customers’ data and reputations is paramount to our business.”
