Mitie awarded two-year extension on existing FM contract with Vodafone UK

Mitie has been awarded a two-year extension (subject to formal contract) to its existing facilities management (FM) agreement with Vodafone UK. This builds on Mitie’s existing long-term relationship with the communications provider. The extension, which begins on 1 April 2020, follows an initial six-year contract.

Mitie will continue to provide a wide range of integrated FM services at almost 1,250 Vodafone properties across the UK, including data centres, corporate buildings and retail stores. Services will include security, planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance, catering, cleaning, waste and energy management and project work.

The initial contract period achieved substantial savings for Vodafone, reducing costs by over 15% of the contract value by changing the service design. Mitie will deploy its connected workplace technology to further increase efficiencies.

Carlo Alloni, managing director for engineering services at Mitie, said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our relationship with Vodafone UK. The two-year contract extension is a testament to the hard work of the operational team as we continue to look for ways in which to deliver smarter and more efficient services using our Connected Workspace technology to support Vodafone’s property strategy.”

Adam Parsons, HR director for Vodafone UK, responded: “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Mitie to provide excellent service to our customers and drive innovation in the way we operate.”
