Mitie, the specialist facilities management company, has appointed Rachel Webb as security assurance manager for its Total Security Management (TSM) business division.

Armed with over 15 years’ experience across both military and UK Government intelligence roles, Webb will now begin to focus on Mitie TSM’s risk consultancy offer.

Webb brings with her a wealth of experience in crisis management, strategic intelligence planning and threat assessment and analytics to the new role. Most recently, this dedicated security professional managed a European regional Command Centre for one of Mitie’s largest clients where her key responsibilities were to develop the strategic direction of the intelligence team, oversee specialist training and co-ordinate crisis management, travel preparedness and operational readiness throughout the organisation.

Commenting on her new role, Webb informed Risk UK: “I’m delighted to be furthering my career within Mitie and am looking forward to expanding the portfolio of the assurance and risk team as it’s absolutely key to the strategic direction of TSM. I look forward to meeting the challenges of working across Mitie’s entire portfolio and promoting the many benefits of adopting a risk-based approach towards security.”

Jason Towse, managing director of Mitie’s TSM business, added: “Rachel has already proven herself as a real asset to our team. We cannot wait for her to share her expertise with the rest of our client base. There’s no doubt Rachel’s experience will afford our clients an additional layer of intelligence expertise in what’s now an ever-changing security landscape.”
