At the recent IFSEC Security and Fire Excellence Awards Ceremony held in central London, the Inspiration in HR Award bestowed on an annual basis by SSR Personnel was won by surveillance specialist Axis Communications. The Inspiration in HR Award recognises the work of Human Resources (HR) professionals and is open to either individuals or organisations where there’s a recognition that HR as a discipline is a business enabler in its own right and a key element when it comes to managing a successful business.

Following the ceremony, SSR Personnel’s director Jeff Johnson asked Vicky Paine (HR director at Axis Communication in the UK) why winning the award is a special achievement for the business.

“At Axis Communications, we believe in ‘Innovation for a Smarter, Safer World’” replied Payne. “Technology should be an enabler that improves peoples’ lives. However, this cannot be achieved without developing and sustaining a workplace culture that has these values embedded within it. The Inspiration in HR Award reflects the dedication and passion that Axis Communications devote to its working environment and people.”

Johnson also asked: “Do you see this award as making a statement on the care that Axis Communications provides for both its members of staff and clients ?

Payne responded: “The award cements the fact that Axis Communications has a great organisational culture which truly values employees and offers its customers a true long-term and mutually beneficial partnership. As a business, we invest heavily in supporting and developing our employees to maintain a happy and engaged workforce. The award makes a real statement on our commitment to our culture and values as an organisation.”

In addition, Payne stated: “At Axis Communications, we’re proud to be part of an industry that achieves so much in helping to create a smarter and safer world. We believe that, each year, the IFSEC Security and Fire Excellence Awards are an excellent opportunity for the industry to reflect on the great things that have been achieved, while also looking forward to continuing innovation and excellence. As in previous years, it was humbling to see so many great nominees and winners. The atmosphere at the event was very positive indeed.”
