Global Cyber Academy appoints Carolyn Harrison as GDPR Ambassador to Advisory Council

Carolyn Harrison, the managing director of risk management and data protection concern Assured Clarity, has been appointed to the role of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Ambassador to the Advisory Council of the recently-launched Global Cyber Academy. Harrison will now use her extensive experience to advise on issues relating to the EU’s GDPR as well as wider data protection and privacy issues.

Launched at the Houses of Parliament in June, the London-based Global Cyber Academy is the world’s first dedicated Cyber Security Academy for business communities. It offers diploma qualifications through courses including Global Security Management, Crisis Management and Identifying and Mitigating the Effects of Terrorism.

The Global Cyber Academy Advisory Council is an international collective of some of the most experienced cyber security and business resilience practitioners and policy-makers.

Richard Bingley, CEO of the Global Cyber Academy, commented: “Carolyn’s practical experience and expertise, coupled with her infectious positivity regarding the benefits organisations can derive from having the right cyber resilience, data protection and privacy, makes her the ideal GDPR Ambassador for the Global Cyber Academy.”

Harrison responded: “Assured Clarity has helped many small businesses, trade bodies and other large organisations to not only chart a course to GDPR compliance, but also reap the rewards of doing so. Assured Clarity wants to raise awareness through educating and that’s why this is such a good fit, as the demand for better skills within organisations can be met by the wide range of online courses provided by the Global Cyber Academy.”

Assured Clarity offers a portfolio of services that includes a focus on risk management, GDPR and data protection strategy and delivery, education and training, information management, due diligence and project management.
