G4S wins BA aviation contract

G4S Aviation Services has announced a new three year contract to be the provider of security solutions to British Airways at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. Duties will include screening of staff, passengers, baggage and cargo, along with document and biometric verification, aircraft protection, firearms handling, incident response services and asset security. Adrian Tighe, Managing Director of Transport and Borders (UK), stated, ‘We have been working closely with British Airways for over a decade and are delighted to be continuing our long-standing relationship.’ The contract is expected to guarantee positions for over 600 people in the Heathrow and Gatwick areas.
