Fire safety and security professionals are being urged to attend next month’s IFSEC International Conference Programme in the wake of the Fire and Security Association (FSA) and the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) agreeing on a partnership with the organiser UBM to host a series of seminars highlighting new business opportunities and major developments in both sectors.
IFSEC International – which is aimed at security professionals from across the supply chain – and its sister event FIREX International, itself devoted to the fire industry, will be held from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 June at London’s ExCeL.
During IFSEC and FIREX International, the ECA and FSA will be involved in the following seminar presentations:
*21 June (midday-12.30 pm): Growing Your Security Business (Installer Theatre)
*22 June (12.40-1.10 pm): Electrical Safety – The Hidden Perils (Smart Theatre)
*23 June (2.00 pm-2.50 pm): The Future of Home Automation (Smart Theatre)
*23 June (midday-12.50 pm): Smart Buildings and Home Technology (Smart Theatre)
Steve Martin, head of the FSA, commented: “IFSEC International is without doubt one of the biggest occasions in the fire and security calendar, and we’re delighted to have such a prominent role at this year’s conference. Our seminars aim to showcase some of the biggest innovations in the industry, and to give professionals the information they need in order to grow their business and expand into new areas of work.”
Blend of products, technical expertise and learning
In response, Gerry Dunphy – event director for IFSEC and FIREX International – stated: “IFSEC and FIREX are delighted to be welcoming the FSA to this year’s shows as the organisation’s members represent a key audience within the security and fire sectors. The shows provide a blend of products, technical expertise and learning opportunities to help FSA members harness vital knowledge in order to develop and grow their businesses.”
Some of the Keynote Speakers during the three-day Protection and Management Series at ExCeL include former British Army officer Colonel Tim Collins, BBC broadcaster Kate Adie and double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell.
The FSA and ECA will also have an ongoing presence during the conference by hosting a stand within the exhibition area. The FSA, which has 280 members across the UK, operates as a specialist division within the Electrical Contractors’ Association and in conjunction with Select (the Scottish electrical contractors), all the while representing the interests of specialist contractors who operate in the fire and security systems sector.
