Delta Security protects Rushmore Primary School thanks to sophisticated CCTV

Delta Security, a specialist in the development of high security solutions, has installed a sophisticated 1080p HD CCTV system to protect students, teachers and visitors alike at the Hackney-based Rushmore Primary School.

The Board of Governors decided to replace the ageing CCTV system with a solution that would provide high-quality, recordable footage day and night. As the school is based in a residential area, it was also important that invisible, non-intrusive infrared lighting was used rather than floodlights that could disturb neighbouring residents.

Rushmore Primary School is based over two sites on opposite sides of a private road. That being the case, there was the added complexity of installing an integrated CCTV system to cover both. Delta Security has used special cables that run across the road to ensure the CCTV system is fully-functional throughout both sites.

Vanessa Browne, school business manager at the Rushmore Primary School, explained: “We wanted a system that would afford us total visibility and instant playback of footage across all entrances and exits, as well as some internal areas. Three potential suppliers provided quotes. Delta Security was chosen because the company’s owner, managing director Dave Mundy, demonstrated an excellent understanding of our needs, ensuring that we could achieve what we wanted without spending more budget than necessary. He even informed us that we could apply to claim back 50% of the overall security costs from the local authority, which we duly did. Our application was successful.”

For his part, Mundy views the education sector as a hugely important one for his business. “Having a good understanding of the requirements of the sector is why we continue to be successful in helping to secure schools,” Mundy informed Risk Xtra. “We ensure that all of our engineers are checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service, which provides the necessary assurances for the business and for the schools with which we work.”

Browne added that Delta Security’s engineers were professional and friendly and provided a good demonstration of how staff at the school can use the terminal. “The system is very easy to use and excellent value for money. The service we received from Delta Security was first class.”
