Following the inaugural Crisis Management Conference (CMC) last year, CMC 2014 will be held on Thursday 18th September at 200 Aldersgate, London, bringing together experts in crisis preparedness, response and communications. The panel of confirmed speakers includes the heads of risk, technical services, communications and business continuity at UBS, BBC, the John Lewis Partnership, Network Rail, O2 and the University of Liverpool. The UK Cabinet Office will deliver the keynote address to mark the launch of the new British Standard in Crisis Management (BS 11200). The conference comes at a time where the frequency of crises is increasing; organisations suffering setbacks of newsworthy proportions are becoming commonplace. The agenda addresses issues critical to helping organisations prevent, prepare and respond to crises to ensure they survive and thrive, as well as creating a unique opportunity for delegates to share views and experience Conference Chairman, Dominic Cockram says,” This is an opportunity for those wanting to take part in discussion of the latest crisis management thinking and to share practical experience with other crisis management professionals from industry, government and academia.” The conference will be held under the Chatham House Rule to promote freedom of discussion.
