BSIA partners with DIT DSO on raising awareness of UK security exports

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) is to partner with the Department for International Trade’s Defence and Security Organisation (DIT DSO) in raising awareness of UK security sector exports. The partnership, which forms an element of the DIT DSO’s commitment to the recently launched Export Strategy, will be promoted at Intersec later on this month, where members attending the BSIA Pavilion will be offered the opportunity for international press liaison and media exposure over the course of the event.

BSIA members who also wish to export to overseas markets will also be able to work with DIT/DSO, via the BSIA’s dedicated communications team, on devising a media strategy to raise awareness of any product or project that they wish to launch internationally.

John MacAskill, the BSIA’s director of manpower and export, said: “The BSIA looks forward to working with DIT/DSO on promoting the value of our members’ UK exports to overseas markets through our partnership starting with Intersec in Dubai. Our partnership will go a long way towards fulfilling our commitment to raising awareness of our members’ work overseas and works in parallel with the Government’s Export Strategy.”

Tracy Buckingham, deputy director for security and cyber security exports at the DIT/DSO, added: “This important partnership will help us to further promote the capabilities of the UK’s security sector, support more exporters and encourage greater industrial co-operation with overseas stakeholders.”
