BSIA appoints Steve Lampett to the role of Technical Officer

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) has announced the appointment of Steve Lampett as the organisation’s new Technical Officer.

Joining the Association on Monday 1 June, Lampett brings with him a wealth of experience gained in the security sector having fulfilled several roles at ADT Fire and Security in various different areas of electronic fire and security, including quality, environmental, Health and Safety and technical areas.

For the past four years, Lampett has worked as a QEHS consultant in the manufacturing and construction industries.

As part of the BSIA’s knowledgeable Technical Team, Lampett will report to newly-promoted Technical Manager Paul Phillips, and will provide essential support for many of the Association’s sections of membership, in turn meeting the growing demand for technical support services.

Commenting on his appointment, Lampett told Risk UK: “I’m very excited about my new role at the BSIA and am looking forward to working with everyone and supporting the Association’s diverse membership to meet its ever-changing technical needs.”

Dave Wilkinson, Director of Technical Services at the Trade Association, added: “I’m delighted to announce the recruitment of Steve to the our Technical Team. He will take on the role of Technical Officer to support both Paul and myself in various aspects of our work. Steve’s solid grounding in electronic security over the past 21 years will be a major asset to our work in this highly important area for the Association.”

He has organised and chaired conference programmes for both IFSEC International and ASIS International and has been published in the national media. Brian was appointed Editor of Risk UK at Pro-Activ Publications in July 2014 and as Editor of The Paper (Pro-Activ Publications' dedicated business newspaper for security professionals) in September 2015. Brian was appointed Editor of Risk Xtra at Pro-Activ Publications in May 2018.
