Axis Group furthers people strategy with appointment of Billy Horgan as head of recruitment

Axis Group, one of the UK’s fastest-growing security, cleaning, Front of House and support services organisations, has appointed Billy Horgan as head of recruitment to further strengthen its people strategy aimed at attracting and retaining the best talent across all parts of the business.

Horgan joins from Hermes, where he was tasked with reducing recruitment costs and bringing processes in-house. In addition, Horgan has worked for FM and construction recruitment agencies where he was responsible for setting team strategies and goals.

Horgan has organised regular recruitment open days, which have attracted an additional 120 security officers within the first three months. He has also introduced a new Applicant Tracking System that has streamlined the recruitment process, as well as providing further insight on Axis Group stakeholders. Internally, Horgan is also promoting how existing staff can apply for new roles in order to help further employee progression.

Jonathan Levine, Axis Group’s CEO, stated: “We have great confidence that Billy will help Axis Group to deliver the best talent for our customers. I believe he will be an asset to the company, with the skills and know-how to further raise our profile as an excellent business to work for. The results so far have been impressive, and we’re now receiving hundreds of applications for each role we advertise almost instantly.”

Horgan stated: “Attracting a higher volume of candidates is key to the strategy. By increasing the number of CVs we’re sent, we have a higher chance of finding the quality that the business requires. I’m looking forward to working with the Marketing Department to help promote Axis Group to potential employees, and also to further improving the careers function on our website. I believe technology is key to ensuring Axis Group stays at the forefront of the industry in terms of attracting and retaining talent.”
