Anne Scorey appointed UK managing director of assurance at British Standards Institution

Anne Scorey has been appointed by business improvement company the British Standards Institution (BSI) as managing director of assurance for the UK and Ireland and, as a result, Scorey joins the EMEA executive team.

In the role of managing director, Scorey will be responsible for the leadership of BSI UK’s assurance business incorporating the BSI Kitemark and training and certification, as well as leading the operational trading and strategic growth of sales, marketing and operations.

Maureen Sumner Smith, chief operating officer for the EMEA region at the BSI, explained: “We’re very pleased to welcome Anne to the organisation. She will be a great asset to our EMEA executive team. Her leadership and team building strengths, as well as her joint knowledge of standards and assurance, will undoubtedly help in driving the growth and innovation agenda for the UK business.”

Prior to joining BSI, Scorey spent eleven years at SAI Global, with an initial appointment as global head of information services for the business. In 2015, Scorey became the regional director for Europe on the Global Executive Committee, where she led on a major transformation programme aimed at creating an integrated business from four divisions (Assurance, Information Services, Learning and Risk Software).

Scorey’s career started in fashion buying for Selfridges and House of Fraser, before she transitioned to the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods space and the role of managing director at Memorex Products Europe.
