A new editor for Risk UK

by Brian Sims

Pro-Activ Publications has announced that from 1st July, Brian Sims will be the editor of Risk UK magazine and its website. Brian is currently Media Solutions Manager at UBM Live and was formerly the editor of Security Management Today (SMT) magazine. He joins Pro-Activ to work on the end-user security and fire publication thus allowing current editor Andy Clutton to focus solely on the company’s installer title, Professional Security Installer (PSI). Commenting on the appointment, Mark Quittenton, MD of Pro-Activ Publications, said:” Brian is a popular figure in the security industry and we are very happy to announce that he is joining the team. He is a perfect fit for Risk UK and I am sure that his experience and industry knowledge will help with the continued development of the magazine over the coming years.” Risk UK is the premier monthly security and fire management publication, addressing all aspects of risk that are faced by today’s business community, assisting those responsible for the security, continuity, safety and risk management of the UK’s largest companies. Areas covered by the magazine range from countering potential terrorist threats, through to preventing crime against the business and those within it, fire prevention, health and safety, CCTV, disaster recovery, IT security, convergence, data management and manned guarding. The magazine also has a weekly e-newsletter and a website providing an invaluable information portfolio for security and fire management professionals. Brian will join Pro-Activ following this year’s IFSEC event (part of Protection & Management 2014) at Excel, London where he is responsible for organising and hosting much of the seminar content.
