The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) has announced that Socrates Coudounaris CFIRM will step up from his position of deputy chair of the organisation’s Board when current chair Nicola Crawford CFIRM steps down in early May. Coudounaris is the executive director of risk for the EMEA region at the Reinsurance Group of America.

Crawford is stepping down to pursue business opportunities having devoted a considerable amount of her professional time to the Institute with a hugely positive impact.

“It’s with significant regret that I’m stepping down as the IRM’s chair,” explained Crawford in conversation with Risk UK. “I have enjoyed the role and will continue to remain involved with the IRM when it comes to supporting various initiatives, as well as being an advisory member of the Enterprise Risk Management in Banking and Financial Services Special Interest Group and the IRM Turkey Regional Group.”

Coudounaris and Crawford are currently working through their transition plan to ensure that there’s a smooth handover period.
