IFSEC International 2018: Risk Xtra’s Solutions Guide for End Users (Part Two)

Organised by UBM, IFSEC International’s 2018 edition takes place at ExCeL London from Tuesday 19 June until Thursday 21 June. As always, Risk Xtra will be there for the entire event. Ahead of the doors to the exhibition opening, here’s the second instalment of a detailed preview for practising end users focusing on what new products and solutions they can expect to see.

UK fencing manufacturer and security expert Jacksons Fencing is showcasing its wide range of Security Rated (SR) products at IFSEC International 2018. In addition to displaying a complete SR1 to SR5 fencing range on Stand H135, Jacksons’ SR fencing will also be involved in three live demonstrations on each day of the event within the LPCB/BRE Attack Testing Zone (Stand H140).

Only products and systems that meet and surpass meticulous standards are awarded LPS 1175 certification. Further, to have items designated SR by the LPCB, companies must have obtained ISO 9001. To achieve a certified LPS 1175 Security Rating, products must pass a rigorous physical test, with the varying standards stipulating the toolset used and a minimum attack time.

Jacksons Fencing has selected a variety of timber and steel fencing, from SR1 to SR4, to be featured in the demonstrations, from its EuroGuard Combi SR1 and Barbican SR1 fences through to its Jakoustic Class 3 acoustic barrier and Trident 4 vertical railing and mesh combination.

The Jacksons products being used are all SR certified, having already met the required standards. These will be featured against a range of competitors’ untested products in the Attack Testing Zone to illustrate the benefits of investing in high-quality AND certified perimeter solutions.

LPCB is running three demonstrations daily, each involving fencing from Jacksons. The schedule is Tuesday 19 June: Demo 1.1 11.00 am-11.40 am, Demo 1.2 1.00 pm-1.40 pm and Demo 1.3 3.30 pm-4.10 pm. Wednesday 20 June: Demo 2.1 11.00 am-11.40 am, Demo 2.2 1.00 pm-1.40 pm and Demo 2.3 3.30 pm-4.10 pm. Thursday 21 June: Demo 3.1 10.45 am-11.25 am, Demo 3.2 12.45 pm-1.25 pm and Demo 3.3 2.45 pm-3.10 pm.

Cris Francis, security consultant at Jacksons, commented: “When selecting fencing to secure your property, reliable certification is crucial. Opting for lower quality for any reason isn’t worth the risk. LPCB ratings are the only way you can be absolutely sure that you’re investing in a product that’s fit-for-purpose. We’re excited to be a part of IFSEC International again this year and look forward forward to the live testing of our products.”
